  • SC + MC + NUM blocks; Physics opens both papers.
  • Math Calculus share was unusually high (~44%).

Year review

2020 rewards a Physics-first reading habit and a Calculus-heavy Math plan. With 18 questions per subject in each paper, the paper feels dense but section boundaries are clear: single-correct, multi-correct, then numericals. Mathematics leaned hard into Calculus (16/36 tags) — area, AOD and integration practice pays off immediately. Coordinate Geometry was lighter than in later years, so do not under-train Algebra (complex, probability, sequences). Physics was Mechanics-dominated (15/36), especially rotation and rigid-body ideas. Chemistry was overwhelmingly Physical; Organic was sparse in the tags — still revise GOC, but expect more thermo/mole/gas numericals. Strategy tip: use 2020 to stress-test Calculus speed and Mechanics fundamentals before you move to the Math-first pattern of 2022–2026.
